Consciously advancing

Safety

At AMS Construction, safety isn’t just a priority – it’s our core value. We understand that our greatest asset is our team, and their well-being is paramount in everything we do. That’s why we’re unwavering in our commitment to providing a safe working environment for all our staff and the sites we work on.

The AMS Effect

AMS Health and Safety Standards

The following Health and Safety Standards are inclusive of certain Federal, State and other regulatory requirements, and of practices determined by AMS management as being representative of industry best business practices. The term “approved” as it appears in these standards refers to practices and equipment recognized as being in compliance with those regulations and “best practices”.

These Standards are not represented to be inclusive of all regulatory requirements, or of additional standards and policy requirements in effect at certain AMS client properties (Including Mine Properties). It is the responsibility of all individuals performing work for AMS for any purpose to be familiar with, and to comply with, those additional requirements. Persons found to have acted or worked in violation of any H&S standard will be subject to disciplinary action or exclusion from further work for AMS. Basic Personal Protective Equipment: The following items are to be considered Basic PPE and must be worn at all times by all on-duty employees:

• Approved safety footwear

• Approved safety helmets

• Approved safety eyewear

• Approved high visibility garments (Safety helmet and eyewear use is not required in office or eating areas where no identified hazard exists and use is not required by the client, or inside the cabs of light vehicles unless required by the client.)

Additional PPE and Requirements

At least 6 differently keyed locks and AMS provided identification tags with photo must be available at all times for LOTOTO use.

Provisions of client or AMS Lockout policy must be strictly adhered to when isolation from a potentially hazardous energy source is required.

Additional PPE will be required when performing any task or entering any area which has been identified as presenting a potential health or safety risk requiring protection beyond the use of basic PPE.

Persons requesting or required to use respirators must be enrolled in AMS’ Respiratory Protection Program.

Persons required to use hearing protection must be enrolled in AMS’ Hearing Conservation Program.

Provisions of AMS’ Fall Prevention Program will be adhered to when working (at any elevation) where there is a danger of falling. Tended lifelines must be used when entering bins, hoppers, or confined spaces.

Clothing, hair, or adornments that represent a catching or tripping hazard are not allowed. Shirts with sleeves and full length pants are required in all work areas where use of Basic PPE is required.

We look After Our Own

We recognize that safety isn’t just about protecting our own team – it’s also about safeguarding the communities and environments in which we operate. That’s why we prioritize environmental responsibility and sustainable practices, minimizing our footprint and ensuring that our projects have a positive impact on the surrounding areas.
